This week’s Champions League action brought us some real entertainment. Over the course of Tuesday, we could watch 51 Goals happening in just 16 games, which means a 3.2 goals per game average. The Champions League is always full of surprises, where smaller teams get a shot to prove themselves at the biggest stage of club football.
Tuesday night’s highlight was the match between Inter Milan and FC Barcelona, which ended with an incredible 1-0 win for the Milanese Team. Even having so many star players, Barça just couldn’t pass through the solid defense system of Inter. Barça, now sitting at the bottom half of their Champions League Group, has to find their form in the last three group-stage games to get to the best of 16. After this game, it will be even harder to achieve this goal.
Maybe the most anticipated game on Wednesday was the one between FC Chelsea and AC Milan. It ended with a solid 3-0 win for Chelsea with Fofana, Aubameyang and Reece James all contributing to the victory with their goals. In their group, the current standing is the following: 1. FC Salzburg, 2. FC Chelsea, 3. AC Milan, 4. Dinamo Zagreb.
