Cristiano Ronaldo is on the Verge of Joining Beckham´s Team

Our Journalist focuses on the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Juventus FC after another disappointing display in the Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo is nearing an exit from Turin after Juventus´ exit from the Champions League in the round of 16 against FC Porto. Last year it was Lyon who threw Juventus out of the CL at the same stage of the competition.

Reports, for example from the journal called La Gazzetta, suggest that Juventus is thinking about offloading their highest earning player after a difficult financial year caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The approximate 31 million euros Juve pays him might not seem to be a good investment anymore after the continued failing to achieve the main goal, winning the highest stage of world football, the Champions League. If Ronaldo were to transfer, his current market value would be around 60M€, according to transfermarkt.de.

One of the possible destinations could be David Beckham´s club Inter Miami FC, a team of the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States of America. Reports say that CR7 already contacted Beckham about a possible transfer at the end of this season. Juventus have been in a good relationship with Inter Miami in recent years, since some high-profile names have previously parted Juve to join Inter Miami, like Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuaín. It seems Miami is the favorite destination for aging Juventus players, and the list will most likely grow with Ronaldo being 36 years old already.

Ronaldo´s contract goes until 2022 with the Bianconeri, but it is unlikely that he stays that long at the club. Despite his age he is the current top scorer of the Seria A with 20 goals. Juventus sits at the 3rd place in the League, 10 points behind Inter Milan, and having one game in hand.
